Is it my oil pump or the oil sending unit? My truck oil gauge is showing that my oil pump is not working properly. It went from 80 lbs down to just above 40 lbs of pressure and at times it seemed it was stuck there. The service engine soon light is on. My main concern is the price of replacement.
How much labor does it take to replace the oil pump?
Thank you
Maggie

Maggie:
When the pressure drops, do you ever hear a knocking or ticking from the engine? I not, replace the oil sending unit. THe part is cheap and easy to replace.

Let me know if you have other questions.
