my truck would loose power while driving. and some times cut off when i would start. i had a some one read the computer and it said the egr valve was bad. well i replaced it, and it help some but ever so often it loses power while going. and when it idails the engine shakes, and tries to cut off. so do i need to replace my cataylitic conveter, and if so can i run the truck with out one?

Check if the exhaust system is restricted by a clogged Cat drop the exhaust pipe to confirm it if so-use a test pipe
