Engine Cooling problem
1997 GMC Sierra 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I just replaced my water pump and radator and all new hoses. I still have a small leak and cant figure it out. I put the gaskets on the water pump along with right stuff gasket sealer, and i still have coolant looks like leaking down from the water pump area. I cant figure it out. I even torque down the bolts to 30 foot pounds. Would you have any clue what i might have down wrong or what might be leaking on this type of truck. It has a 4.3L v6 in it. Should i checkk the torque again, cause it i took it to a shop they would only torque it one time. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Hi:
Are you sure the leak is from the water pump and not running down from the intake gasket? They do have a history with intake problems. If it's the waterpump again, mark where the leak is so you can inspect that area when you remove it. Also, you can try to retorque it to see if that helps.

Let me know what you find.
