1996 GMC Sierra corrosion in distributer cap

HI, I have had 3 distributer caps fail due to corrosion build up in the last 2 years the last 2 replacements were AC DELCO.
WHY?

Hi:
It is unusuall for that to happen. Moisture will cause it. They make a product that sprays on a water tight seal. You may want to try it. Also, make sure that water isn't getting on it as a result of a bad seal on the hood.
