1995 GMC Sierra Two Wheel Drive Automatic 174000 miles

A sticker under the hood near the radiator identifies my engine size as a 5.7L. Using an on-line service, I typed in the VIN number which returned a 5.0L engine. How can I know for sure what size engine I have?
