my truck is getting power because all the lights and stuff work but when i turn the key i get absolutely nothing and i was just wondering where to start looking for the problem at. Im not much of a mechanic so i find this very difficult.

no clicking or nothing? if that was the case i would look to make sure the anti theft system isnt stopping the cranking from taking place.

next i would check the starter relay and if that is good chances are its the ignition switch.
