I replaced the engine with a long block ,but didn't get the truck on the road for many years, now the lifters are making noise, what is the best way to quiet the lifters?

Are you sure the rocker arms are adjusted correctly. Sometimes the lifter will have some leak down if sitting without oil for awhile. I would pull the valve covers. Use some cardboard as a splash guard and adjust the rockers by ear to see if noise goes away. If so you may need to adjust all your rockers correctly.
