1988 GMC Sierra making a knocking sound as i drive up hill

my truck a gmc sierra 1500 makes a knocking sound as i start to pull a hill an if i give some gas it will get loud. if im on a flat its ok. there is no power loss but it does the knocking.

Sounds like its pinging could be due to an EGR valve. and Knock sensor
