The exhaust crossover pipe prevents removal of the deep pan. How do I get sufficient clearance so I can remove the pan to replace the filter?

To gain enough clearance you will have to loosen the crossover pipe at the exhaust manifolds. Then disconnect the rear transmission mount at the cross member. With a foor jack, or other means, lift the tail shaft of the transmission. The exhaust will remain stationary as the tranny rises. This should give you just enough room to pull the pan. Great design, huh?
Hope this helps and thanks for the donation, Jim
