1996 GMC Savana Neutral Safety Switch

I have a 96 Savana that won't engage he starter unless I wiggle the gear shift lever.
Could this be a neutral safety switch problem? If so, where is this switch located on this vehicle and how easy is it to replacw it?

Dunno about a 4cyl on this model-its listed as 6/8cylinder engines -the park and neutral position switch are all located on the left side of the transmissiion
