I have been told my drivers side CV Axle needs to be replaced, but not the passenger side.
Is it normal to replace only one side or should both be done at the same time?

One at a time is ok. They are usually guaranteed for life on the replacements and since money doesn't grow on trees it makes sense financially speaking. Not a problem to do one and leave the other. It might be right behind.
