2002 GMC Safari

I have been told that I may need to replace my rear differentials when I took my vehicle in for inspection due to a very loud humming noise. How much does this typically run? What could happen if I dont repair this in a timely manner? and.. What I be better off just purchasing a new vehicle? Thanks.

it could be the differental bearing you would be looking at about $700.00 but if it is the differental you would be looking at about $1,000.00-$2,000.00
