UPON STARTING THE VAN. A LOUD ROARING SOUND IS HEARD UNDER THE HOOD AND THIS NOISE WAS VERY LOUD THAT COULDN'T BE IGNORED. WHAT COULD IT BE??

could be your fan clutch with eng OFF turn fan does it turn easily if yes ok . next remove serp belt turn all pulleys by hand they should turn spin quietly with little effort the bad one will turn rough or hard and noisy usually this is a idler ..good luck billymac
