1999 GMC Safari window switch

The drivers side window worked most of the time but occasionally after putting down it won;t go up. If I shut off the motor and wait a couple of minutes then try again it works. What causes this?

this is usually caused by a overheated window motor and if not used it will cool and reset itself then work again until it overheats again

Thanks. So I guess that means the motor is shot or is there something else that could be causing it to over heat?

99 percent of the time its a bad motor
