1987 GMC Safari engine knocking

My van makes a loud knock from the drivers side when first started .After driving for 10miles it quieten down to a very light tap otherwise it runs fine.can you help I ask this once before

It could be either a bad wrist pin or connecting rod bearing, drive till it dies...Requires a rebuild anyway.
Keep in mind this is a diagnosis made with your description, any mechanic can tell you what it is, if this is the right diagnosis..
