1994 GMC S15 engine overheating

I recently had my intake manifold gasket replaced, and then my water pump went bad. The truck was running fine when I brought it to the mechanic and I got about a mile down the road and coolant started spraying from the water pump as soon as the system started heating up. I replaced the pump and thermostat myself and the engine still overheats. What's the next step?

Try bleeding the cooling system- that don't work get it block and pressure tested-
