I am in the process of pulling the 4.3 L to replace the oil pump. To remove the exhaust manifold , I need to remove the power steering pump. My Haynes book just says to unbolt the bracket and remove the pump, but I cannot get a tool on a bolt behind the pump and on the inside of the bracket. Do you have a procedure to remove this assembly?

if there are no holes in the pulley to remove the bolts, then pull the whole bracket off. Otherewise you need a special tool to remove the pulley, take the pump off then another special tool to reinstall the pulley after gettting the pump back on.
