1989 GMC S15 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 220*** miles

Hey, when driving the truck will act like its going to die( kinda like when running out of gas) for a couple of seconds then kicks back in like nothing happened and it continues to do this until the truck is turned off..i should also mention that the truck is NOT fuel injected its carburated.

Its not because i have no gas, the tank is at half also the oil is full and trans fluid is good.

please help me with this problem

thanks

Your vehicle isn't computer controlled? That's not a feed-back carb? My info shows fuel injected, tbi. Do you have a mechanical fuel pump or electric?

Can you get it to act-up in the driveway, is the choke opening like it should? When was the last time you put a carb kit in it? How about the fuel filter?

In the past, I have seen a faulty ignition coil cause a high speed cut-out. I'm not saying your coil is faulty, I'm just making suggestions.
