1988 GMC S15 vacuum for 4x4

I want to know different reasons why the 4x4 will not ingauge in my 1988 GMC s15....

Usully it is a vacuum related problem. Make sure the lines from the transfercase to the differential are in good shape. If everything looks ok, you may need to pull the hubs apart to see if there is a problem there. Also, check for a vacuum leak at the supply, the engine.
