1983 GMC S15 new gauges for my s15

I bought some gauges for my s15 thhey come out of an 84 some of the gauges dont work but thats really not the problem with the new gauges in my truck will not shut off>>?? why

Different wiring between the gauge systems is probably causing both problems.
