the carb is a mess, can you recomend a reputable place to buy a rebuilt carb?

Those carbs were a mess when they were new!! However I would suggest finding someone to rebuild yours. That is cheaper and a good rebuilder can make it work. If you really want a replacement you could look at a United reman #33777 (rock auto has it for 325.00 or so)
