Check the fuel pressure and also check to see if the fuel pressure regulator has failed.

The 2.4 is one of the worst motors there is it is what they call a quad four when you pulled the top of the motor to change the moduel did you check the plastic cover real close for carbon tracks these will cause hard start cross firing and such also I have seen cam alining pins on sprokets sheer and put it out of time. The pressure foot for the timing chain is oil feed sometimes a backlash from a back fire will cause malfunction and put out of time condection thes last few thins that I have talked about need to be done by a tech that has the proper tools and equipment. But the cove you can do if there is any doubt change it may save you time and a bunch of money. Hope this helps :D (NOS)

I have seen car go into lock mode because the person used a key different than the one that came with the car. If you have done the same thing try useing the orginal key. You may beable to use a dup key several times before it happenes most cars have a chip built into the key if this key is not used the car won't start it goes into lock mode nad most times has to be taken out by a dealer or useing the right key.
