s-10 engine swap

will a 1986 2.8 f.i. engine swap with a 1983 2.8 carb engine. will the long blocks interchange if i swap all the parts from the 83 to the 86 block?

everything should interchange with no problems. although a v8 would be well worth the swap...

i went to a engine rebuilder and the shop said a front wheel drive block is different the a rear wheel drive block. also said that a 86 block does not have a spot for a fuel pump and the cam amy be different but someone else siad the cam part numbers are the same. HELP.
