With that sort of mileage you should purchase a manual. See the links at left on the blue bar. It will be a well used investment.
Good luck and let us know, :)

I too own a 1991 Caprice and I had the ignition tumbler go out 1 month ago.I own a manual for the car but found out just how hard the componet was to replace! I do most of my repair myself so there is not much that I would not atempt to do however the ignition swich is verry hard to do as you have to dissasemble the whole stearing collom including the airbag and horn assmb. And the wheel itself to get at it and fooling around with a air bag is dangerous for the do it yourselfer. I had to pay someome to replace the switch and I watched him do it the repair was a little over $300.00 quite a sum! I would seguest that you do not try to do this repair yourself as you can damage much! There is no way to remove the tumbler from the outside sorry I wish I could make it easy for you good luck!

With the right manauls and tools many projects are made easier. Like the steering wheel isnt really that hard to do if you got the tools to do it. Which I recommend.
