Daytime running lights

I have a 96 chevy Tahoe, my daytime running lights don't go on. My Highbeams and lowbeams work.
The green DTR light on the dash is on but the lights are off, I was told that their is a way of turnning them on/off is this true?

yes make sur you emrgenacy brake is completely off if it is set one notch it will turn off the daytime running lights (NOS)
