1997 Other GMC Models 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

My 4X4 jimmy wont shift into 4 wheel drive a friend told me it was some motor in the transfer case... i have no idea what it would, be, any suggestions

I believe on your model, it has an electric solenoid that engages 4wd, check your switch, and the fuses, and check your wires to, and at the transfer case.
