When I try to starter my Jimmy it tries to turn over making the regular start up noise. But then it shuts off when I let go of the key. Also sometimes it spudders out after it has turned over. Then it will go a few times that it starts on the first try. Also occasionally it I guess starts but tries to shut off maybe idles down and then back up I guess is how I would explain it? Any guess if this would be my starter or something else?

I would be leaning toward a bad fuel pump. Next time when it wont start, try spraying starter fluid into intake and see if it starts right up. If it does then suspect weak fuel pump

Well, actually just had the fuel pump replaced in February. My truck just stoppped running while it was sitting still. I thought I ran out of gas because my low fuel light was on but when I filled it up it still wouldn't start. It has been having this starting problem since the fuel pump was replaced. Maybe they used a junk part that wasn't very good?

I find that the connectors to the fuel pumnp fail just as often as the fuel pump itself. The connectors get hot and loosen up over time or melt.
