I have 2 Jimmys, 2000 and 2001, both Diamonds. The front end squeak I experienced in both. The 2000 had a faulty grease fitting needle on a ball joint. It would not allow any grease in the fitting. Easily fixed. The 2001, somehow, had a grease fitting get jammed full of road debris. Another easy fix. The squeaks went away. The mechanic had to use a stethoscope to pin point the problems. Good luck.

Check the grease fittings on the ball joints. Listen with a stethoscope and have someone bounce the car up and down at the same time. If the noise was like mine it may not show up while doing this. You may have to drive a while to get the noise to be more consistent. Rainy whether can also diminish the squeak. Some repair shops have a lift that can rock the car better.

If the grease fittings are the problem the cost is minimal. About $60.00 is what I paid
