I guess I will have to answer my own question since I already did it.
first jack up the front end and take the front tire off, support the lower arm with a jack or jack stand. Then unbolt the brake line clip. Remove the cotter pin and slacken the ball joint nut. Now my ball joints were factory rivetted so I had to grind the rivets off using a mini grinder and punch the rivets through. Old ball joint should come right out.
Install new bolt-on ball joint. Then install main nut with cotter pin. Rebolt on brake line clip. Grease new ball joint nipple and any others if you wish. Install tire and remove jacks. Should take about an hour!
