My Jimmy got stuck in some snow and while trying to go in reverse the car started whining and now I have no reverse. I can go forward but the four wheel drive whines and the auto four wheel drive is slow to shift gears when I put it in drive and steps on the gas.
What could have happened and what tyoe of car repair shop should I be looking for to repair?

I can go forward slowly in auto four wheel or four wheel but it whines, and I have no reverse.

thank you

check the output shaft c clip on the transfer case. they are common to pop off or break causing your problem and is a relatively easy repair by removing the output shaft housing.
