2000 GMC Jimmy radio speakers

I wanted to know why my driver door speaker doesnt work? i tryed hooking another speaker up to it but it seems there is no juice comming threw the wires. My fathers 96 jimmy does the same thing. is this a common problem? and how can i fix it?

There are only two things that can cause this, a bad or broken wire, or that channel on the radio is bad. You can try tracing the speaker wires back to the stereo or remove the radio and have it bench tested at a stereo shop to determine if power is making its way from the stereo.
