1999 GMC Jimmy High Mileage Question

I have a 1999 GMC Jimmy, with 160,000 original miles, a mix between highway and residential miles. It currently runs fine and has no problems, I'm just curious as to how long you're supposed to be able to drive a Jimmy before it starts to act up. Wondering how many miles I probably have left before I should start looking for a new vehicle. I watch the EGR valve and clean it out pretty regularly, and otherwise keep the truck in good condition.

How long a vehicle runs is mostly dependant on the owner and the care that is given to the vehicle. If you keep it maintained nicely and regularly this it coulde last for many more miles/years. I have seen these things go over 250k miles with original motor and tranny several times.

I have jimmy 96' with 355,000 kms and still running smooth, I even live in a country that reach a hot temperature reaching 50'C. It doesn't overheat cause I add an auxillary fan for the condenser. Regular maintenance is always the answer.
