1999 GMC Jimmy 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive

My Jimmy 4.3 w engine has a loud clanking, I do not seem to know where from, can you help?

Remove the serpentine belt and rotate all of the pullys by hand (except the crankshaft pully) to see if the noise is there. Pay close attention to the idler and tensioner pullys.
