I shifted my Jimmy into 4 wheel hi, and drove in the heavy rain. But upon switching back to 2-hi, it make an unbearable noise, and does not seam to disengage. Have I ruing the transmission?

It shouldn't have hurt the trans. The actuator may be bad. It is the electric motor that is on the transfer case that changes it. Make sure it is getting power. If it is, have the actuator checked.
