THE SHIFTER BUTTON TAKES QUITE SOME TIME TO PUSH IN WHEN IT IS IN THE PARK POSITION. QUITE A BIT OF WIGGLING OF THE SHIFTER IS NEEDED, WHEN I HAVE THE BRAKES PUSHED DOWN PRIOR THE SHIFTER BUTTON BEING ALLOWED TO BE PUSHED IN. ALL OTHER LOCTION THE SHIFTER BUTTON PUSHES IN EASILY, BESIDES IN THE PARK POSITION. What is causing the shifter button not being allowed to be pushed in when in the park position and how do you repair ?

your wording is a little confusing to me so i just want to clarify...you ARE applying the brake pedal when trying to push in on the shifter button, correct?..if not then that is your problem. if so then suspect faulty brake transmission shift interlock (BTSI) solenoid, located on shift lever assembly.
