Electrical problem
1998 GMC Jimmy 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 103K miles

All of a sudden my door locks have become a problem. Sometimes it won't lock. Sometimes it will unlock itself. Sometime the windows will roll down. Other times they won't. From all that I have read so far, it it likely an 'actuator' problem. Somewhere I read it might need to be oiled....but where? How can I tell if it needs replaced? Anything/everything you can tell me I would sincerely appreciate. I'm no mechanic but I'm willing to try, just to save a few bucks. Thanks.

check for a shorted wiring harness located right under the driver side footwell area.
