1998 GMC Jimmy Loud Airplane Noise

I have a 98 Gmc jimmy that has a loud airplane sound occuring. I dont hear this noise all the time but when i do it gets louder when i accelerate. Can anybody help me figure this thing out.. Thanks in advance

The sound is most likely from the fan. The vehicle has a fan clutch that is to lock up at a certain temp. When the temp is met, the fan spins full speed and makes a sound like you described.
