Replacing Fuel lines

I am replacing the rusty fuel supply & return lines on my 97 Jimmy. Are both lines under pressure or just the supply line? I was using a high pressure rubber fuel line for the job but it is very expensive. I wanted to know if I could use a regular low pressure fuel line (much cheaper) for the return to the tank.

I wouldnt suggest it.The entire system is under more pressure than regular fuel line can handle.I suggest getting a cheap tubing bender, a flaring tool and some double flare connectors and using metal line.

I have a 96 Jimmy and the fuel line is leaking... do I have to drop the fuel tank in order to repair the leak with nylon gas line? It is leaking on the line below the drivers door.

You don't have to drop the fuel tank Cut the line right there and splice in make sure the fuel hose will hold the specified fuel pressure

Hi, some of these procedures, you need to use your own initiative. If it is a steel line, the autostore probably sells what you need. You may need a tubing bender to put the proper bends in the new line. Use the old line as a template for the bends. There is a safety issue with fuel lines, the responsibility is yours.
