My driver side door has been slipping. About 3 months ago The door latch sometimes would not move so that the latch could engage the holder to close the door. We was able to pull on the interior door handle and than manually move the latch in the door up. On Monday that Happened again but no we can't get the latch to engage to get the door to stay closed. Should we take the door panel off and see if the handle and latch system some way has come unattached. How do you remove the door panel

Hi: Are the hinges good on the door? If so, there a few screws that will need removed and plastic pushin retainers that will pop off when you pull on them. Remove the panel and see if something is broken or unattached.

Sounds like the latch has either gotten dirt or rust in the latch hook area or the return spring has broken. Not uncommon on the drivers door.
