The number one problem with your compressor, the GM HT6, mounted right on top of the engine, is case o-ring leak. The leak is usually located under the compressor, and is often missed because it's a hard place to get a light in. Once you remove the compressor though, you'll see it. The good news is that replacing that compressor is very easy, and fairly inexpensive.
