while driving the car speed reaches 45-50 mph the engine starts reving. then when speed reaches 65 it stops.

Is your service engine soon light on? If yes the codes would be helpful, there are several tech bullitens on GM trannys...need the code to get to the bottom of this one...in the mean time, unplug the electrical connector at the tranny and look for corrosion...
