1995 GMC Jimmy stuck in park

the car died in an intersection, it was put into park then restarted, now it will not come out of park....tried rocking it....disconnected the cable from the tranny...cannot move the lever...so it is not the cable

You need to have the shift interlock system checked-could be the shift lock solenoid.
