1995 GMC Jimmy 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive 174, 52 miles

I had several new parts put on my truck. New fuel pump, "the brain of the engine" not sure whats that called and a coil. My truck sputters like its going to cut off when driving. When I start it up it drives for about 3 miles then it cuts off. Sometimes it starts right back up and other times it don't.I had the new parts put on about a month ago.I took it to the mechanic and had it tested. The test said it needs a fuel pump. Is there two fuel pumps. I had the test done after I had the new pump put on. Please help!

No there is only 1 fuel pump. Usually when this happens it is because the fuel pulsator that connects the pump to the sender is ruptured. Hope this helps

Have the exhaust checked for restriction/test the idle air control valve/throttle position sensor/EGR valve/the distributor pick-up coil-

Recheck the fuel pressure-you only got 1 fuel pump-

How's the plugs/wires/cap/rotor condition and other related tune-up parts?
