There could be a number of reasons why the engine is hard to start.
It could be due to a weak fuel pump, dirty throttle bore, torn intake boot, worn out spark plugs, low cylinder compression etc.
The best course of action would be to take a look at each item and take necessary action. Like cleaning the throttle body, replacing spark plugs, checking the compression, and testing the fuel pressure.

If you are only having this issue when the vehicle sits for a long time, it could be due to a fuel issue. Like a malfunctioning pressure regulator not working properly when cold.
Checking the fuel pressure when the engine is cold might provide you with an answer.
This vehicle should have 58-64 PSI of fuel pressure with the key on and engine off.
