I was driving my GMC Jimmy the other day, and it had a complete loss of power. I directed the car to the side of the road, put it in park and turned it off. It started back up normally. I let it run in park for a few minutes and it continued to run. Once I put it in drive, it had a loss of power again after driving about 20 feet. Once I finally got it home (it stopped and I had to start it again about 6 times), I let it run in park and it ran for about 10 minutes in park. The instant I put it in drive, it had a loss of power again.

Someone told me it could be an inertia switch. Is there anything else it could be?
