my 4 wheel drive doesn't always want to engage, and when it does..it seems to somehow slip out of 4 wheel...it is the push button on the dash type..i understand there is a sensor under the truck that could be causing this problem..can you explain a little?

Sounds like you have two problems. No "sensor" that causes this problem. It is likely either a vacuum leak OR the vacuum switch on the transfer case isn't operating properly. It isn't hard to change and is available on the HELP rack in many parts stores.
