While driving down the road and acellerating the gas gauge goes to empty (just filled the tank yesterday) then it goes back to the normal position. It also will go to empty when I take the foot off the gas pedal, It only stays on empty for a couple of seconds before moving back to normal. I know its telling me something but not sure what. The engine runs and sounds normal. Does not stall.

It sounds like you may have a bad float in the fuel tank. Does the gauge read normal and correctly when it's working?

yes the gauge reads normal. If we do not fill the tank all the way it is ok. If we fil it is when it seems we have the issue.

My guess the float has a bad rheostat. The only problem is the float is part of the fuel pump and located in the fuel tank.
