2004 GMC Envoy Won't Idle

2004 GMC Envoy 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

Installed a new alternator and belt today. Now the car won't idle when the A/C kicks on. Idles fine without the A/C. The tach fluctuates from 700 to 400 and dies. We didn't have any problems with the idle before we put on the alternator and belt.

The idle air control valve is probably relearning its target speed
