My driver's side left wheel wobbles and I believe it may be the wheel bearing. Is this a job the average back yard mechanic can handle and if not what is the typical cost?
BTW: the wobble is the only symptom and I did not hear the usual noise associated with a failing bearing. Other possibilities?

Check to see if the wheel is bent. If you want to change the bearing chekc for noise first. Go in a large right hand turn or circle. This forces the left to move faster and make noise if it's bad. If you have done' brake repair you can probably do the wheel bearing. If it doesn't have a speed sensor in the wheel it wil be about $150-225 and if a sensor about double that sometimes.
