The service 4x4 light comes on. The transmission shop told me that every time they clear the code it comes right back on.

What could be the problem. The 4 wheel and AWD functions do not work

Hi:
If the 4x4 unit will not engauge, you problem most likely lies with the actuator located on the transfer case. Check it for power when shifting from 2 to 4 wheel drive. If you're getting power, the actuator needs replaced.
